Validity of CTET Certificate

  • The CTET Certificate is valid for a lifetime for all categories.

  • There is no limit on the number of attempts a candidate can take.

  • Candidates who already qualified CTET may appear again to improve their score.

CTET Eligibility Criteria – February 2026

1. Primary Stage (Class I to V)

Candidates must meet any one of the following criteria:

  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with 50% marks and passed/appearing in 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education

  • Senior Secondary with 45% marks and passed/appearing in 2-year D.El.Ed. (as per NCTE 2002 norms)

  • Senior Secondary with 50% marks and passed/appearing in 4-year B.El.Ed.

  • Senior Secondary with 50% marks and passed/appearing in 2-year Diploma in Special Education

  • Graduate and passed/appearing in 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education

  • Graduation with 50% marks and B.Ed.

2. Secondary Stage (Class VI to VIII)

Candidates must meet any one of the following criteria:

  • Graduation and passed/appearing in 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education

  • Graduation with 50% marks and passed/appearing in 1-year B.Ed.

  • Graduation with 45% marks and passed/appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (as per NCTE norms)

  • Senior Secondary with 50% marks and passed/appearing in 4-year B.El.Ed.

  • Senior Secondary with 50% marks and passed/appearing in 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed. or B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed.

  • Graduation with 50% marks and passed/appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)

  • Graduation with 50% marks and passed/appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education Stream)
