The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination every year to recruit candidates for Group B & C posts in ministries, departments, and organizations of the Government of India. For SSC CGL 2025, the exam will be held in two tiers (Tier-I & Tier-II) through Computer-Based Examination (CBE).

🔹 Tier-I (Objective Test)

  • Subjects: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Comprehension
  • No. of Questions: 100 (25 each)
  • Maximum Marks: 200
  • Duration: 1 hour
  • Negative Marking: 0.50 per wrong answer

🔹 Tier-II (Objective + Skill Test)

Tier-II consists of multiple papers:

  1. Paper-I (Compulsory for all posts)
    • Section-I: Mathematical Abilities & Reasoning
    • Section-II: English Language & General Awareness
    • Section-III: Computer Knowledge Test (Qualifying) + Data Entry Speed Test (DEST)
    • Marks: 390 | Time: 2 hrs 15 mins
  2. Paper-II (Statistics – only for JSO posts) – 200 marks

  2. General Awareness
    • Current Affairs, History, Geography, Polity, Economy, Culture, Scientific Research, and General Knowledge related to India & its neighbors.
  3. Quantitative Aptitude
    • Number System, Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, SI & CI, Time & Distance, Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, Trigonometry, Data Interpretation, Probability & Statistics.
  4. English Comprehension
    • Vocabulary, Grammar, Synonyms/Antonyms, Sentence Correction, Active-Passive Voice, Direct-Indirect Speech, Cloze Test, Reading Comprehension, Para Jumbles.

  1. Paper-I (Compulsory)
    • Mathematics: Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Mensuration, Probability, Statistics, Time & Work, DI.
    • Reasoning: Analogy, Series, Venn Diagram, Logical Thinking, Embedded Figures, Critical Reasoning.
    • English: Spotting Errors, Para Jumbles, Cloze Test, Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary.
    • General Awareness: Current Affairs, Indian Polity, Economy, Geography, Science.
    • Computer Knowledge (Qualifying): Basics of Computers, MS Office, Internet, Networking, Cyber Security.
    • DEST (Qualifying): Typing speed test of 2000 key depressions in 15 minutes.
  2. Paper-II (Only for JSO – Statistics)
    • Data Collection, Measures of Dispersion, Probability, Correlation & Regression, Sampling Theory, Hypothesis Testing, Time Series, Index Numbers.

  • Normalization: Marks will be normalized if the exam is conducted in multiple shifts.
